Biography
Dr. Trevor Trust has over 35 years of experience in academia and industry, focusing on the mechanisms by which microbial pathogens cause disease, and how to prevent and cure these diseases. He co-founded AstraZeneca R&D Boston where was Vice President of Infection Discovery Research for 15 years. During this time he has also established and managed research collaborations with companies in the U.S.A., Australia, Japan and South Korea. Before joining industry, Dr. Trust served as Chair of the University of Victoria's Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology. Trevor has also held academic and research positions in the Australia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Trust has served in many editorial, advisory and review boards, and organizations, including as president of the Canadian Society of Microbiologists (CSM). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and in 1993 received the CSM Award. Dr. Trust earned his Masters and Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Melbourne. He has published over 200 manuscripts, book chapters or review articles on infectious microorganisms and has been a highly cited author in microbiology.
