Biography
Mr. Paulo Guilherme Aguiar Cunha has been the Chairman of the Board at Ultrapar Participações S.A. since 1998 and serves as its Director. Mr. Cunha has been a Member of the Board at IBMEC Business School and of the board of IPT - Technological Research Institution. Mr. Cunha has been the Vice-President of ABIQUIM, the Brazilian Association of Chemical Companies, a Board Member of the Superior Council of Economy and of the Consultative Council for Industry of FIESP, the state of Sao Paulo Industry Association, the founder and Member of the board at IEDI - Research Institution for the Industrial Development a Member of the Board of CSN - Companhia Siderurgica Nacional and of Monteiro Aranha SA. He serves as Director of Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa. Mr. Cunha served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ultrapar Holdings Inc. from 1981 to January 1, 2007 and served as its Vice-President since 1973. Mr. Cunha also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Oxiteno group since 1981. He joined Ultrapar in 1967. He has also served as a Member of the National Monetary Council, BNDESPAR, a subsidiary of BNDES, ABNT, known as the National Standards Institute and as Chief Executive Officer of IBP, the Brazilian Petroleum Institute. He served as a Professor of Engineering at Catholic University and at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro from 1963 to 1966. Mr. Cunha received a degree in Industrial Mechanical Engineering from Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro in 1962.
