Ivan Dieb Miziara

Biography

Ivan Dieb Miziara holds a medical degree from the Medical School of the University of São Paulo (1982), a PhD in Otorhinolaryngology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (1993) and has been a Professor of the same faculty since 2005. He has a specialization course in Bioethics, by the Faculty of Medicine of USP. He holds a degree in Otorhinolaryngology from the Brazilian Association of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervical-Facial Surgery and a specialist in Legal Medicine from the Brazilian Association of Legal Medicine and Medical Expertise. He is a Full Professor of the Discipline of Legal Medicine and Medical Deontology of the Faculty of Medicine of ABC (2008). He is an adjunct professor at the Discipline of Legal Medicine and Bioethics of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (2011). He is a professor at the Department of Legal Medicine, Medical Ethics and Social and Work Medicine at the Medical School of the University of São Paulo (USP) (2013), acting as Associate Professor, ref. MS-5. He coordinates the undergraduate course in medicine at the Discipline of Legal Medicine and Bioethics, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Santa Casa de São Paulo. It is, since 2015, the Superintendent of the Ténico-Científica Police of the State of São Paulo. He is a member of the Animal Research Ethics Committee of the Faculdade de Medicina do ABC (2010). Minister of the Elective Discipline "Violence and Health", next to the program of postgraduate sense stricto of the Faculty of Medicine of the ABC. Minister of Ethics and BIOETHICS in SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY (MOF 5765), in the post-graduation course in Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine, USP. Minister of the discipline PROJECT OF RESEARCH IN HUMAN BEINGS: ETHICS AND REGULATORY ASPECTS next to the Program of Academic Masters of the Postgraduate Course of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo. He is a post-graduation counselor registered with CAPES. He has also been a medical examiner at the Legal Medical Institute of the State of São Paulo since 1986. He was the coordinator of the LEGAL MEDICAL OPINIONS COMMITTEE of the Legal Medical Institute of the State of São Paulo. He headed the Franco da Rocha Legal Medical Skills Team (1996-2002) and was Technical Director of the Service of the Capital and Greater São Paulo Nucleus of the Legal Medical Institute - SP, from August 2002 to January 2005. He is currently Technical Director of the Department of the Medical Legal Institute of São Paulo and Member of the Advisory Committee on Medical Ethics in Scientific Research of the same Institute. Since then he has dedicated himself to teaching and researching in Legal Medicine, not only in the accompaniment to the younger coroners of the teams of skills he headed, but also in the teaching of medical-legal, ethical precepts and the doctor-patient relationship to otorhinolaryngologists, especially resident physicians of Otorhinolaryngology, Hospital das Clínicas, FMUSP. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Ethics, Health and Justice" of the Department of Legal Medicine, Medical Ethics and Occupational Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of USP. He is also an effective member of the BRAZILIAN ASSOCIATION OF LEGAL MEDICINE, the International Association of Legal Medicine (IALM)
