Biography

He holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Pará (1996), a specialization in Neurosurgery at the Federal University of São Paulo (2002), a Master's degree in Medicine (Neurosurgery) from the Federal University of São Paulo (2004) and a PhD in Medicine (Neurology) at the University of São Paulo (2010) in cooperation with the University of Frankfurt in Germany, during the Clinical and Research fellowship (2006) in the Department of Neurosurgery. In 2006 he was awarded the CNS International Fellowship Award by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), which earned him a scholarship to conduct a Fellowship in Vascular Neurosurgery and Skull Base at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) in Phoenix AZ, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Robert F. Spetzler. He is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery (SBN), where he coordinated the Department of Vascular Neurosurgery from 2008 to 2012 and Member of the Teaching Commission since 2010. He was part of the Specialist Title Committee between 2014 and 2016. He is also a full member of the Academy Brazilian Association of Neurosurgery (ABNc), Association of Neurosurgeons of the State of São Paulo (SONESP), of which he was Vice President between 2013-2015, American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and World Federation of Neurological Societies (WFNS). He has experience in the area of ​​Neurosurgery, with emphasis in Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Microsurgery, acting mainly on the following subjects: Cerebrovascular diseases (Cerebral aneurysm, arteriovenous malformations, cavernomas, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral vasospasm
