Biography
Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Pernambuco, with a Master's Degree in Preventive Medicine from the University of São Paulo, a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of California Berkeley and a PhD in Medicine from the University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral degree from the University of California, San Francisco. Fellow of the Fogarty International AIDS Training Program at the University of California San Francisco in 1998 and at the University of California Berkeley between 1999 and 2001. Distance Learning Tutor from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (2009-2014); Visiting Scientist at the Department of Global Health and Population of the Harvard School of Public Health, between 2009-2012. Adjunct Professor, Department of Collective Health, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Santa Casa de São Paulo. Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Collective Health of the FCMSCSP. Coordinates research line on Health, Sexuality and Human Rights of the LGBT Population. Coordinator of the Epidemiology Commission of the Brazilian Association of Public Health (ABRASCO) since 2015. Member of the International AIDS Society and the International Epidemiological Association.
