Biography

He holds a medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (1980), a Master's in Population Research - University of Exeter (1985) and a PhD in Demography from UNICAMP (2004). Adjunct Professor, Department of Collective Health, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP). She was Coordinator of the Technical Area of ​​Women's Health of the Ministry of Health from 1995 to 2002, during which the Program of Humanization of Childbirth and Birth, the National Program to Combat Cervical Cancer and the strategy for sending contraceptives directly to Brazilian municipalities. Coordinated the Project Support Program for Reproductive Health and Sexuality (PROSARE), developed by the Committee on Citizenship and Reproduction and the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP), with financial support from the MacArthur Foundation. She was a coordinator of the National Research on Demography and Child and Women's Health (PNDS 2006) and was coordinator of the Women's Health Technical Department of the State Health Secretariat of São Paulo from 1995 to 1998 and from 2007 to 2010. Currently, in addition to teaching at FCMSCSP, she is a sanitarist at the Health Institute, where she develops research on women's health.
