Biography

Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo, Brazil. Master and PhD in Medicine from FMUSP, in 1980 and 1984. He has a Specialist Degree in Allergy and Immunopathology from the Brazilian Association of Allergy and Immunology, Specialist Degree in Pediatrics by the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics. She worked as an Assistant in the Medical Research Laboratory of the HC of FMUSP until 1988. In 1987 she returned to the School of origin as Assistant Professor of Immunology, becoming Assistant Professor, after a public contest. In 2010, also by public contest, obtained the title of Full Professor of Immunology of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo. She is the author of the book "Immunology from the basic to the applied", 3a. ed. Publisher Atheneu, 2015, in which he wrote the 24 chapters. She is currently Full Professor and Coordinator of the Discipline of Immunology of the Department of Pathological Sciences of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo; Professor of Post-graduation at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo; Responsible for the Laboratory of Immunology of the Faculty of Santa Casa de São Paulo; Chairman of the Hospital Immunology Committee of Santa Casa de São Paulo; President of the Scientific Department of Allergy and Immunology of the Associação Paulista e Medicina; Member of the Scientific Department of Immunodeficiencies of the Brazilian Society of Allergy and Immunology. The main line of research is in primary immunodeficiencies, with emphasis on the study of phagocytes. It has 80 complete articles published in indexed journals, 102 book chapters, 172 articles published in annals and events, 394 presentations of papers and lectures in congresses and 321 participations in events and congresses, 46 completed guidelines and 109 participations in newsstands. Received 28 awards, including: - Award as "Brazilian physician who contributed to Immunology in the 20th century", received at the Brazilian Congress of Allergy and Immunopathology; - Physician Recognition Award of the Pediatrics Review and Education Program of the Association for Health Research and Development.
