Biography

Mr. Pedro Pullen Parente has been Chief Executive Officer at Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras since May 31, 2016 and serves as its Member of Executive Board. Mr. Parente served as the Chief Executive of Bunge Brazil and President of Bunge Brazil at Bunge Limited from January 2010 to June 30, 2014. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Bunge Brasil S.A. since January 2010 until April 30, 2014 and served its President until April 30, 2014. Mr. Parente served as an Executive Vice President of RBS-Rede Brasil Sul and served as its Vice President. He worked at Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras. In his civil service career, he worked for Banco do Brasil from 1971 to 1973. He served as the Chief Minister for the Civil House and Executive of the Brazilian Ministry of Finance from 1994 to 2002. In 1999, he was a Minister of the Brazilian government and his last assignment while in office was to coordinate the team overseeing President Fernando Henrique Cardoso's transition. He joined Bunge from Brazilian media company Grupo RBS, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2003 to 2009. In March 2001, he served as an Acting Minister of Mines and Power and from April to July 1999, Minister of Planning, Budget and Management. Mr. Parente served as an Executive Secretary of the Finance Ministry from 1995 to 1999, Consultant of the International Monetary Fund, based in Washington D.C., from 1993 to 1994, National Secretary of Planning from 1991 to 1992, President of SERPRO - Serviço Federal de Processamento de Dados (Federal Data Processing Service) from 1990 to 1991, Secretary of Budget and Finance - SOF from 1989 to 1990, Deputy Secretary, Secretary of Financial Planning and Secretary of Information Services in the Secretaria do Tesouro Nacional - STN (National Treasury Department) from 1987 to 1988, Deputy Secretary General of the Finance Ministry from 1985 to 1986 and held several positions in the Brazilian Central Bank's Financial Administration Department from 1973 to 1984. He was also Deputy Minister of Finance of Brazil. He left Central Bank in 2010. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Grupo RBS Ltda. He served as Secretary of State and as Consultant for the 1988 Brazilian Constitutional Assembly. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of União da Indústria de Cana-de-Açúcar. He has been Chairman of BM&F Bovespa SA since April 2013 and served as its Vice Chairman. He served as Chairman of the Board of Petrobras and Banco do Brasil. He served as the Chairman of CPFL Energia S.A. He served as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Arlon Group LLC. Mr. Parente has been a Director of TAM Linhas Aereas S.A since April 27, 2007. He serves as an Independent Director at BM&F Bovespa SA. He has been a Director of TAM Capital, Inc. since April 2007. He has been a Director of America Latina Logistica Do Brasil since the first half of 2004. He has been a Director of Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras since May 31, 2016. He serves as Director of Suzano Petroquímica S.A. He serves as Director at Grupo RBS Ltda. He serves as a Member of the boards of AMCHAM Brasil, FNQ and Conex. He served as an Independent Director of Kroton Educacional S.A. He served as Director at of CPFL Energia S.A. since September 28, 2009. He served as Director of Alpargatas SA (formerly, Sao Paulo Alpargatas S.A). He served as Director at America Latina Logistica S.A. since 2004. Mr. Parente served as Director of Duratex SA since August 31, 2009. He served as a Director at Rumo S.A. since 2004 and served its Member of Fiscal Council. He served as a Director of Itau Unibanco Holding S.A. since April 20, 2012. He served as an Independent Director of TAM S.A. from April 27, 2007 to July 31, 2009. He served as a Director of Wilson Sons Limited (Wilson, Sons de Administracao e Comercio Ltda) from April 2, 2007 to May 8, 2008. He served as a Member of Fiscal Council at All America Latina Logistica S.A. He serves as a Member of the Brazilian Institute for Ethical Competition - ETCO and a Fellow at the George Washington University - Centre for Latin American Studies, in Washington (USA). From 2001 to 2002, he served as the Chairman of the Energy Crisis Management Committee. Mr. Parente graduated with Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Brasília, in 1976 and holds a degree from University Of New Brunswick, Fredericton in 1971.
