Raul Calfat

Biography

Mr. Raul Calfat serves as the President of Votorantim Participações S.A. Mr. Calfat serves as the President of The Votorantim Holding Company. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Votorantim Industrial S.A. (VID) from January 2012 to December 2013. Mr. Calfat served as the Managing Director at Votorantim Industrial S.A. From January 2004 to January 2012, he served as VID’s General Director for all of its industrial businesses (including cement, pulp and paper, zinc, nickel, long steel, orange juice, chemicals and energy) and since January 2006, for the corporate area of VID. He served as Vice President of Bracelpa from 1996 to 2003, Chief Executive Officer from 1993 to 1995 and President of the Pulp and Paper Association of São Paulo from 1993 to 1995 Mr. Calfat has also served as Executive Managing Director of Votorantim Investimentos Industriais S.A., an affiliate of Votorantim Metais Ltda. since January 2004. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Fibria Celulose SA from 1992 to 2003. He served as the President of Votorantim Pulp & Paper Inc. until January 5, 2004. Mr. Calfat began his career at Simon’s Paper Industries S.A. in 1973, where he held various positions including Chief Executive Officer. He served as Managing Director of all industrial business at Votorantim Industrial since January 2006. He served as a Commercial Director at Papel Simao in 1982 and in 1987 was elected as its President. Mr. Calfat served as the President of the Pulp and Paper Association of São Paulo from 1993 to 1995. He served as the Vice President of the writing and printing paper division of the Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Papel e Celulose and served as Vice-President of the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Association from 1996 to 2004. He serves as the Chairman of Votorantim S.A. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Votorantim Participacoes S.A. since January 2014. He has been the Chairman of Votorantim Cimentos S.A. since April 2013. He served as Chairman of Aracruz Celulose S.A. since March 2009 and Votorantim Participações S.A. since January 2014. He has been a Director of Bracelpa since 2009. He serves as Director of Votorantim Cimentos S.A. Mr. Calfat has been a Director of Fibria Celulose SA (formerly Votorantim Celulose e Papel S.A) since December 2009. He serves as an Independent Director of Duratex SA. He served as a Director of Aracruz Celulose S.A since July 16, 2004 and Votorantim Industrial S.A. from 2004 to 2014. He graduated from Fundação Getúlio Vargas with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also completed the management development program for senior executives at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
