Biography

Mr. Manoel Arlindo Zaroni Torres has been Chief Executive Officer at Tractebel Energia since 1999. Mr. Torres serves as the President of the Conselho Plenário do Comitê Gestor do Consórcio Machadinho. He has been Independent Director at Eternit S.A. since 2016. He has been Board of Directors member of Tractebel Energia and its subsidiaries since 1999. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Itá Energética e da Energia Sustentável do Brasil. He serves as a Member of the Conselho Superior de Formulação Estratégica of the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina – FIESC. In 2015, he was elected the Best CEO buy side in Latin America by Institutional Investor and in 2014, the 4th Best CEO in Latin America by the IAE Business School. In 2013, was elected the 29th World's Best President by the Harvard Business Review and received the Industrial Order of Merit of Santa Catarina by the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina - FIESC. In 2012, he received the Laurea of Merit by the Federal Council of Engineering and Agronomy - CONFEA. Mr. Torres is an Electrical Engineer from the Federal School at Itajubá - Brazil in 1972 and specialized in General Management by Centro Europeu de Educação Continuada CEDEP/INSEAD - France, 2002. In 2015, he participated in the "Leading from the Chair" program - INSEAD - France.
