Biography
He holds a degree in Agronomy (1995) and a Master's degree in Agronomy (Phytopathology) from the Federal University of Viçosa (1997) and a PhD in Agronomy (Phytopathology) in a sandwich program at the University of Guelph (Canada) and Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2001). Worked as Phytopathology professor at FESURV (UniRV-GO) and Environmental Microbiology at PUC-Campinas. He is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company, which has been working at Embrapa Meio Ambiente since 2001. He works in research and development at the agriculture and environment interface, with experience in the field of Phytopathology, with a focus on epidemiology, biological control, biocompatible control of plant diseases and sustainability metrics. He was Coordinator of the Management Committee (CGPort) of the Embrapa Rationale for Agrochemicals Management Portfolio and member of the SaniFrut Project Arrangement Management Committee (Technological Solutions for the Major Phytosanitary Challenges of Tropical Fruit Growing). He was the coordinator of the Working Group on Biological Control of the Southern Cone Plant Protection Committee (COSAVE), in which he still acts as a member. As a manager, he held the positions of Deputy Chief of Communication and Business (2010/2011), Deputy Chief of Technology Transfer (2011/2012) and Deputy Chief of Research and Development (2012/2015) at Embrapa Environment. Since December of 2015, he has been the General Manager of Embrapa Meio Ambiente. He was the coordinator of the Working Group on Biological Control of the Southern Cone Plant Protection Committee (COSAVE), in which he still acts as a member. As a manager, he held the positions of Deputy Chief of Communication and Business (2010/2011), Deputy Chief of Technology Transfer (2011/2012) and Deputy Chief of Research and Development (2012/2015) at Embrapa Environment.
