Biography
Dr. Pedro Wongtschowski, Ph.D., served as the President of Ultrapar Participações S.A. Dr. Wongtschowski served as the Chief Operating Officer of Oxiteno S.A., until 2006. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Superior Council of ABEQ- Brazilian Association of Chemical Engineering and Vice-president of the Directive Council of the Brazilian Chemical Industry Association (Abiquim) as well as the Vice-president of the Latin American Chemical and Petrochemical Association (APLA). He has been an Executive Officer at Ultrapar since 1985. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ultrapar Holdings Inc. from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2012. He was a Superintendent Director of Oxiteno S.A. until 2006. He was employed at Ultrapar Holdings Inc., from 1970 to 1972 and rejoined Ultrapar in 1977. He was at PROMON Engineering from 1972 to 1977 as Project Coordinator. Dr. Wongtschowski serves as a Member of the Advisory Board at Monashees Capital+. He has been Vice-Chairman of Ultrapar Participações S.A. since April 19, 2017. He is a Vice Chairman of the board of Directors of Tequimar and a Member of the Board of Directors of ABIQUIM - Brazilian Chemical Industries Association and APLA-Latin American Petrochemical and Chemical Associations. He has been a Director of Ultrapar Holdings Inc. since January 2013. He served as an Independent Director of Arteris S.A. He served as a Director at Ultrapar since 1989 and at Oxiteno Nordeste since 2003. In 1983, he received the Rio de Janeiro Chemical Union Award; in 1996 he received the “Fritz Feigl Award”. He acted as the Chairman of the “International Petrochemical Information Forum, was a Member of “CEO Task-Force on Responsible Care”, and a Member of “CEO Global Dialogue”. He is the author of the book 'Industria Quimica - Riscos e Oportunidades' (Chemical Industry - Risks and Opportunities), published in 1999. Dr. Wongtschowski holds a PhD and a Masters degree in Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of Sao Paulo (Escola Politecnica da Universidade de São Paulo) and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering.
