Biography
He holds a degree in Mathematics from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2003), a master's degree in Statistics from the Technical University of Lisbon (2007) and a PhD from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2012). He has experience in Statistics, with emphasis on dimensionality and visualization reduction, time series and singular spectral analysis, robust methods and big data, among others. He has published more than 25 articles in specialized magazines and is currently Managing Editor of the Journal Statistics, Optimization & Information Computing (since 2013); Co-Editor of the Biometrical Letter (since 2013). In his professional activities he interacted with more than 35 collaborators in co-authorship of scientific works and received 17 awards and / or honors. PC Rodriguess is the Chair of the ISI Young Statisticians Committeee, ISI Council Member, ISBIS Council Member, Member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC), Chairman of the Latin American Regional Section (LARS) of IASC, and Vice President of RAS. He is the leader of the CNPq research group "Biostatistics and Big Data", accredited by UFBA. He is currently the Research Director of CAST - Center for Applied Statistics and Data Analytics, University of Tampere, Finland.
