Biography

Carla Maria Avesani holds a degree in Nutrition from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (1994), a Master's degree in Nutrition from the Federal University of São Paulo (1998) and a PhD in Nutrition from the Federal University of São Paulo (2004). He did postdoctoral studies at the Karolinska Institute, Division of Nephrology (2006) on nutritional aspects in chronic kidney disease. She is currently associate professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro and vice director of the Institute of Nutrition in the term 2016-2019. She has experience in Nutrition, with emphasis in Nephrology, working mainly in the following subjects: nutritional aspects of chronic renal disease (CKD) in the non-dialytic and dialytic phase. She is also a reviewer of national and international journals in the area of ​​Nutrition and Nephrology and is part of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Renal Nutrition.
