Biography
Graduated in Biological Sciences (1997), with master's degree (2001) and doctorate (2006) in Zoology by the Institute of Biosciences of the State University Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP - Rio Claro). He holds a postdoctoral degree (2012 - 2014) at UNESP - Campus do Litoral Paulista (São Vicente), where he also served as Lecturer in the discipline Conservation of Marine Natural Areas (2012). He coordinated the Coastal and Marine Conservation Program of the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation (2007-2012) and was a biodiversity analyst at the Conservation International Marine Program (2005-2007). He participated in several research projects applied to marine conservation and fisheries management, including community outreach initiatives. He is currently Adjunct Professor of the Department of Marine Sciences of the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), Campus Baixada Santista, integrating the permanent staff of the Postgraduate Program in Biodiversity and Marine and Coastal Ecology (PPGBEMC).
Research Interest
The main lines of research are applied zoology (emphasis on biology and population dynamics of sharks and rays), conservation and management (emphasis on endangered species, protected marine and coastal areas and management of fisheries resources).
