Biography
Pilar Carolina Villar is a lawyer, graduated in law in 2003 from the Faculty of Law of Franca, master (2008) and PhD (2012) of the Graduate Program in Environmental Science of the University of São Paulo. Her doctoral thesis, "The Search for Governance of Transboundary Aquifers and the Case of the Guarani Aquifer" won the honorable mention at the 2013 Capes Thesis Award. She is currently a Professor at the Interdisciplinary Degree in Marine Sciences of the Federal University of São Paulo and is a member of the board of environmental law professors from the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Course at FGV Direito. In 2014, she was a visiting professor at the Center de Droit Maritime et Océanique of the Université de Nantes and the University of Seville in the Erasmus Mundus Master Course on Maritime Spatial Planning program.
Research Interest
He has experience in the areas of public policy, environmental law, international environmental law, environmental management, environmental education and urban planning, focusing his analysis particularly on the issue of water resources
