Biography
Adriana da Silva Thoma has a degree in Special Education from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM, 1994), a master's degree (1997) and a doctorate in Education (2002) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Currently Associate Professor I of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, working in the Department of Specialized Studies of the School of Education (DEE / FACED) and the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGEDU). Coordinator of the Research Group SIGNS: Subjects, Inclusion, Narratives, Identities and Subjectivities. Member of the Center for Studies on Curriculum, Culture and Society (NECCSO / UFRGS) and the Interinstitutional Group for Research in Deaf Education (GIPES). He coordinated the Include Program of UFRGS, from 2008 to July 2014. He has been a reviewer of journals in the area of ​​Education, among which: Brazilian Journal of Education (RBE), Pro-Positions Magazine of Unicamp; Curriculum without Borders; Special Education Journal of UFSM; and Revista Linhas da UDESC.
Research Interest
She develops and guides research in the field of Cultural Studies, Foucauldian Studies and Deaf Studies in Education, mainly in the following subjects: deaf education, school inclusion, subjectivities, identities and difference and evaluation in deaf education.
