Biography
Andréia Biolo studied medicine at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and graduated in 1999. She has been living in Internal Medicine (2000 to 2002) and in Cardiology (2003 to 2004) at Hospital de Clínicas in Porto Alegre. He holds a Master's degree in 2005 and a PhD in 2008. From 2006 to 2008 he held a sandwich doctorate program at Boston University under the guidance of Professor Wilson S Colucci. At the doctoral level, he studied mechanisms of cardiac remodeling in both clinical and experimental models. Since 2013, she is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of UFRGS, in the Department of Internal Medicine, working in the Disciplines of Semiology and Medical Clinic I. She is coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Cadiology and Cardiovascular Sciences of UFRGS since 2015. Productivity researcher of the CNPQ Category 2 from 2013 to 2017.
Research Interest
She works with research lines with experimental models of cardiac hypertrophy, with translational studies exploring mechanisms of development and progression of heart failure, especially those involving microRNAs and their targets, and clinical studies in patients with heart failure.
