Biography

Brazil Silva Neto holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1997). Medical residency in General Surgery and Urology performed at Hospital de Clínicas of Porto Alegre (1998-2003). Master and PhD in Medicine: Surgical Sciences by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2004-2005 and 2006-2008). He was a Fellow of the CAPES Sandwich Doctorate program, working as a Research Fellow at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Boston-USA. He is a member of the Research Group - Molecular Bases of Tumoral Formation in collaboration with the Laboratory of Endocrine and Tumoral Biology, Department of Physiology, UFRGS. In November 2009, he was approved in First Place in Public Tender for the position of Adjunct Professor of Urology of the Department of Surgery of UFRGS. Was Coordinator of the Scientific Week of the HCPA (2011 and 2012). Together with the HCPA Research and Graduate Group, he was a member of the Research Ethics Committee and Co-Editor of HCPA Magazine. Permanent Professor of the PPG in Medicine: Surgical Sciences.

Research Interest

His main area of ​​practice is Urology Oncology, working in clinical research and translational research in cellular and molecular biology, with special interest in the development of new molecular tumor markers for early diagnosis and target therapies in urological neoplasms.
