Carlos Gustavo Tornquist

Biography

He has a degree in Agronomy from UFRGS (1988), a Master's degree in Soil Science from Texas A & M University (1997) and a PhD in Soil Science from UFRGS (2007). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Solos-Dep Solos-UFRGS Research Group (2007-2009). H He worked as a university professor in Soil Science at Univ.Passo Fundo, where he headed the soil analysis laboratory (1997-1999); as technical advisor in Fertilizer Company (Manah / Bunge Fertilizantes). In the public sector, He was a consultant with a multidisciplinary team in the elaboration of an international environmental project (RS Biodiversity Project-SCP-RS / IBRD) and consultant for the environmental recovery of degraded areas in the Pampa (UNDP / MMA / INCRA). He is currently Deputy Prodessor IV at Dep. Solos / UFRGS, advisor at PPG Ciência do Solo and PPG Remote Sensing (both at UFRGS) and serves as Coordinator of PPG Soil Science (2017-2019).

Research Interest

Has experience in the area of ​​Agronomy, with emphasis in Soil Science, acting mainly in the following subjects: environmental modeling; geoprocessing applications in rural and environmental planning; recovery of degraded areas; land use and management systems and the use of agroindustrial residues in agriculture.
