Biography
Carlos Roberto Galia holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) (1989), a Master's degree in Medicine - Surgery from UFRGS (1999) and a PhD in Medicine - Surgery from UFRGS (2004). He is currently Assistant Professor A of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UFRGS; Professor of the Postgraduate Course in Medicine? UFRGS Surgery (Masters and Doctorate); Physician of the Hip Surgery Group of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Service, Hospital de Clínicas, Porto Alegre; Head of the Multi-Unit Bank Unit of the Hospital de Clínicas of Porto Alegre - UFRGS; Coordinator of the Research Group Hip, Biomaterials and Multistep Bank; Member of the Brazilian Society of Hip Surgery; founding member of the Latin American Association of Tissue Banks - ALABAT; Scientific Director of the Brazilian Hip Society; Physician of the Clinical Body of the Moinhos de Vento Hospitals in Porto Alegre. He also holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from UFRGS (1984)
Research Interest
He has experience in Orthopedic Surgery, working mainly in the following subjects: orthopedics and traumatology, hip and pelvis surgery, bone grafts, hip reconstruction and lyophilization of musculoskeletal tissues of human and bovine origin.
