Biography
Claudia Alcaraz Zini holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1984), a master's degree in chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1990) and a sandwich doctorate in chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2002) at the University of Waterloo. She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
Research Interest
She has experience in Analytical Chemistry, working mainly on the following topics: comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with mass spectrometry detector, volatile and semi-volatile compounds from various matrices, extraction and separation, environmental analytical chemistry, ecological chemistry. Among the main matrices of study are: wines, fruit juices, food in general, plants, essential oils, bio-oil, tar, petroleum, coal, bitumen, etc.
