Biography
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1982), a Master's degree in Soil Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1986) and a PhD in Agronomy - Technische Universitat Munchen (1993). She has a postdoctoral degree at the Institut fur Spektrochemie und Angewandte Spektroschopie (ISAS) in Dortmund, Germany, in 1996. She is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
Research Interest
She has experience in Soil Science, with emphasis on Chemistry and Mineralogy of Soil, mainly in the following subjects: organic matter in tropical and subtropical soils under native vegetation and agricultural use: characterization, interactions and dynamics; Organo-mineral interaction and interaction between pesticides and soils; chemical and spectroscopic analyzes of MOS (FTIR and NMR); quantification and characterization of humic soil and coal substances; effects of burning on the quality and quantity of SOM in subtropical soils; synthesis, characterization and evaluation of the dynamics of controlled release pesticides
