Biography
He holds a bachelor's degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1982), a Master's degree in Phytotechnology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1988), PhD in Phytopathology - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1995) of Plants by the University of Wageningen - The Netherlands (1992). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, working with the Department of Plant Protection and the Graduate Program in Rural Development (PGDR / UFRGS), which he coordinated from 2010 to 2012. He was editor-in-chief of the Brazilian Journal of Agroecology between 2006 and 2014 and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Agroecology Magazine from 2010 to 2015. He was president of the Brazilian Association of Agroecology from 2004 to 2007 and 2nd Vice President in 2008 and 2009. Between 2006 and 2007 he was a representative of civil society as a specialist in family agriculture with the National Technical Committee on Biosafety - CTNBio.
Research Interest
He has experience in the areas of Rural Development, Agroecology and Agronomy, working in teaching, extension and research in Agroecology and Rural Development.
