Biography
Jairton Dupont has been a Full Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at UFRGS since 1992 and a 1A Fellow in productivity and research at CNPq. Graduated in Chemistry from PUCRS, Ph.D. in Chemistry from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France and postdoctoral degree from Dyson Perrins Laboratory, Oxford University, England. In 1990 he returned to Brazil, acting as a doctoral fellow at IQ-UFGRS until 1992. Between 2014 and 2017 he was Professor of Sustainable Chemistry (EPSRC / GSK Professor of Sustainable Chemistry) at the University of Nottingham-UK. He was the coordinator of the Graduation Committee of the Chemistry Course (1993-1996) and Post-Graduation (2001-2003) of IQ-UFRGS, member of CA-Química of CNPq (2003-2004) and is an area CAPES (2005-2011). He develops catalysis research projects and has published more than 300 articles in international journals, thirteen patents, nine chapters of international books and a textbook of Organometallic Chemistry for graduation.
