Biography
He holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1990), a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1993) and a Ph.D. in Chimie de Biomolécules from the Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse III) ( 1996). Currently Associate Professor II of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Catalysis and Vice-Director of the Catalysis division of the Brazilian Chemical Society. He has experience in the field of Chemistry, with emphasis on Catalysis, working mainly on the following topics: catalysis, nickel, diimines, sol-gel, silica, zeolites, heterogenization, oxidation, oligomerization and polymerization.
Research Interest
Organic Synthesis, working mainly on the following topics: synthesis of benzazoles heterocycles, esquenaínas and cyanines, photophysics, fluorescent probes, organic polymers and hybrid organic-inorganic photoluminescent materials.
