Biography
He holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1981), a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1989), a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Universität Bielefeld in Germany (1994) and a Post-Doctorate from the Université Joseph Fourier , Grenoble, France. She is a Professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), working mainly in General Chemistry. Already she was vice-coordinator and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemistry of UFRGS and deputy head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of UFRGS. She was Scientific Director and President Director of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS). She is currently Director of the Chemistry Institute of UFRGS. Has experience of research in Physical Chemistry, Physics-Organic and Analytical Chemistry. In research, major projects include macromolecules and / or self-organized structures. It specializes in the application of spectroscopic techniques such as light scattering, mainly, and X-rays, always applied to the physical-chemical study of soft matter.
