Paula Rigon Da Luz Soster

Biography

Paula Rigon da Luz Soster holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 1998), a master's degree in Neuroscience from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2005) and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Federal University of Rio Grande of the South (UFRGS, 2009). Currently Adjunct Professor Level 1 of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, teaching Histology classes at the Institute of Basic Health Sciences, Department of Morphological Sciences. She acts as a collaborator in researches investigating cellular and tissue metabolic alterations (IPA-RS) and in studies concerning the histophysiological bases of pathologies such as Parkinson's Disease (PUCRS). In UFRGS, collaborates in the development of projects with the use of matrices of biodegradable and biocompatible nanofibers for the construction of supports for the cultivation of stem cells for tissue regeneration linked to the line of research with stem cells and in the research of morphological and physiological studies in vivo, of the effects of transport and temperature on the post-vitrification result of murine and bovine ovarian fragments, linked to the cryopreservation line of ovarian tissue. 

Research Interest

Research, experimentally, the regeneration of tissues that need to be removed surgically, due to cancer or trauma, through the use of stem cells.She has experience in the area of ​​morphology, with emphasis on histology of the nervous system (central and peripheral) and techniques of immunohistochemistry and histochemistry.
