Biography
He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the UFRGS Engineering School (1981), a Master's degree in Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from UFRGS (1983), a Ph.D. in Catalysis from Paul Sabatier University - Center National de la Recherche Scientifique, Toulouse, France 1987) and postdoctoral degree in Catalysis by the French Institute of Petroleum, Rueil-Malmaison, France (1994). He was President of the UFRGS Graduate Chamber, was president of the Brazilian Society of Catalysis and was Director of the Chemistry Institute of UFRGS from 2007 to 2011 and is coordinator of the Post-Graduation Program in Materials Science at UFRGS. He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and an IA researcher at CNPq. He is a full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on Chemical Kinetics and Catalysis
Research Interest
Kinetics Chemistry and Catalysis, working mainly on the following topics: biphasic catalysis, homogeneous catalysis, oligomerization, polymerization, ionic liquids, CO2 fixation, alternative energies, fuel cells and hydrogen production.
