Biography

Rosane Gomez Graduated in from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Master in Medical Sciences: Pharmacology, Federal University of of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) and PhD in Biological Sciences: Physiology, UFRGS. He has developed a postdoctoral project at Yale University, United States, for 2 years. She is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at UFRGS. She has held the position of Head of Department (2015-2017) and is a member of the Postgraduate Committee of PPG Pharmacology and Therapeutics, UFRGS. He participated actively in the construction of the documents for the creation of this PPG in 2014. She also contributed to the creation of the Academic Postgraduate Program in Biosciences and Rehabilitation of the Centro Universitário Metodista, IPA, Porto Alegre, in 2005. During this same period, participated in the elaboration of the "Viva Voz" Project, a national telephone assistance program that provided information on drugs of abuse. Already guided more than 50 students counted scientific initiation, works of conclusion of course, masters and doctorate. She is currently directing a master's and doctoral degree from the PPG , being a leader of a research group called "Alcohol and Tobacco Neurobiology", with research evaluating the effects of the combined use of these two drugs of abuse on different neurotransmitter systems, as well as therapeutic interventions for reducing alcohol consumption or relieving signs of alcohol withdrawal in rats.
