Biography
Currently Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and member of the Postgraduate Program in Neurosciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1994), a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1996), a Ph.D. Rio Grande do Sul (2001) and postdoctoral (Neurophysiology) at the CNRS of Gif-sur-Yvette, France (2001). Has experience in several areas of Neuroscience.
Research Interest
It acts mainly (1) animal model of Parkinson's with use of 6-OHDA; (2) mechanisms of memory and cognition; (3) consciousness; (4) computational analyzes of biomolecules and (5) in studies of the relationship between the immune system and the nervous system.
