Biography
He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (1987), a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Pharmacology and Pharmacology, UFMG, 2002), and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Calgary (Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases and Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Canada 2004-2005) and at the Center de Recherche Clinique Etienne-Le Bel (Université de Sherbrooke, Canada 2012-2013). He is currently associate professor level 1 of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Department of Pharmacology), with experience in the pharmacology of inflammation and pain, acting in the research of protease activated receptors (PAR) in the recruitment of neutrophils and eosinophils, cannabinoid receptors and pain.
Research Interest
Receptors activated by proteases and lipid mediators in inflammatory and allergic responses, and study of cannabinoid receptors in inflammatory pain
