Biography

Dr. Angelica Thomaz Vieira is Biologist at Integrated Methodist College Isabela Hendrix (2006), Master in Biochemistry and Immunology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2008) and PhD in Immunology from UFMG. Doctorate sandwish in Australia (Garvan Medical Research) in the department of Immunology (2010). She holds a postdoctoral degree in genetics at the Department of General Biology / UFMG and was a Visiting Professor at the Department of General Biology / UFMG. He has done post-doctorate in the department of Microbiology / UFMG. Has done post-doctorate at CNRS- Strasbourg France. He was a PNPD / CAPES fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology / ICB-UFMG. Currently she is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology / ICB-UFMG. Has experience in the field of Immunology and microbiology with emphasis on inflammation and role of the microbiota in the immune system, working mainly on the following topics.

Research Interest

Mechanisms involved in the interaction between the host and the microbiota using the Drosophila melanogaster fly as study model, Role of metabolites produced by the intestinal microbiota in the inflammatory response of the host.
