Biography

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2002), a Master's degree and a PhD from the same institution (2005 and 2009). In 2009 she was a substitute professor of Human Parasitology (ICB / UFMG). He completed postdoctoral studies in the area of ​​immunology of helminth parasites. He is currently Adjunct Professor of the Department of Parasitology of the Institute of Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, at the Veterinary Helminthology Laboratory of ICB _UFMG. It develops projects with parasite helminths, having extensive experience in the interaction of the internal defense system of molluscs with helminths and also in the interaction of helminth parasites with vertebrates. It works mainly in the following subjects: association between Schistosoma mansoni _ Biomphalaria; Fasciola hepatica_ Lymnaea columella; Angiostrongylus vasorum_ Achatina fulica; Strongyloides venezuelensis; Haemonchus contortus. Member of the Managing Committee of the Center for African Studies at UFMG, a body linked to the International Relations Board of UFMG, since 2017.

Veterinary Helminthology, Role of immune system elements in acute and chronic infection induced by Fasciola hepatica in mice, Identification of helminths of mammals, birds and their intermediate and paratenic hosts in Minas Gerais.
