Biography

Did master's Degree in Science (Cell and Tissue Biology) at the University of São Paulo (1980) and PhD in Biology at the University of São Paulo (1974), Specialization in Comparative Analyzes of Ecological Factors in Aquatic Ecosystems By the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2001). She is a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais since 1979, working in the area of ​​Cellular Biology and Histology. He has experience in the area of ​​Morphology, with emphasis on Fish Reproduction, acting mainly on the following topics: gonadal maturation, spawning, micropyle, ovocitary surface, basins of the rivers São Francisco and Rio Grande, endocrine disruption. Coordination of the ICC-UFMG Laboratory of Ichthyology and Leader of the research group on "Fish reproduction" of UFMG. Has experience in the orientation of undergraduate and graduate students (Master's and Doctorate). Consultant Ad-Hoc of research promotion body (CNPq, FAPESIG, FAPESIG, Austrian Science Fund, ANPCyT-Argentina) and referee of scientific papers for several national journals (BJMS, RBMVZ, TECPAR, Lundiana) and international journals (Journal of Fish Biology , Fish Physiology Biochemistry, Acta Zoologica, Histology and Histopathology, International Journal of Developmental Biology, Autophagy and others).

Reproductive biology of teleosteal fishes, Gametogenesis of teleost fish, Biology of eggs, embryos and larvae of freshwater fish, Proliferation, cell death and autophagy during gametogenesis and gonadal maturation of fish, Endocrine disruption and environmental ecotoxicology.
