Biography

Graduated in Biological Sciences from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (1983). In 1986 he completed the Specialization Course in Vertebrate Biology, Post Graduation lato sensu. He completed the Master's degree in Morphology in 1990 and the Doctorate-Sandwich in Cell Biology in 1999, the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, USA. She is currently a professor (associate level IV) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a collaborating researcher at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, with experience in the areas of cell biology, using as tools, mainly high resolution light microscopy and electron microscopy streaming. He held senior positions from 2004 to 2008 and from 2011 to 2013. In the period from 2009 to 2011, She held the position of Vice-Director between 2011 and 2015 of the Museum of Morphological Sciences - MCM / ICB / UFMG, institution in which she currently holds the position of Vice-Coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Cell Biology, Director. The museum has as its patrimony the real human body, whose proposal is to encourage the student community of different schooling, besides the spontaneous extra-university public, the knowledge of the body itself, as well as the pursuit of health and quality of life. The MCM is open to daily visits guided by trained mediators in the area of morphology. Since 2011, it has participated in events of scientific dissemination promoted by MCM, as well as those proposed by the various institutions of popularization of science, technology and information. held the position of deputy director between 2011 and 2015 of the Museum of Morphological Sciences - MCM / ICB / UFMG, institution in which she currently holds the position of Director.
