Biography

Adjunct professor in the Department of Pharmacology of ICB-UFMG, holds a degree in Dentistry from UFMG (2005), a master's degree and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from UFMG (2005-2010). PhD in the Laboratory of Hemodynamics and Cardiovascular Technology of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) and Division of Cardiology of the Universite de Geneve - Switzerland, in Pathophysiology of Atherosclerosis. Has experience in the areas of Physiology and Pharmacology, with emphasis on Cardiovascular System and Atherosclerosis. Its lines of research involve the contribution of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and CB2 receptors in the maintenance of vascular homeostasis, vascular remodeling, neointimal formation and atherosclerotic plaque, besides its participation in the uptake of LDL oxidized by macrophages and endothelial cells. Currently he is also responsible for the Laboratory of Vascular Biology of the Department of Pharmacology of ICB-UFMG.

Research Interest

Anopyoid Cb2 Receptors On The Vascular-Protection Vascular Protected By The Nnos In Vascular Remodeling, Receptors type Toll 4 (TLR4) in vascular pathophysiology: Implications in vascular function, angiogenesis and arterial remodeling.
