Biography
He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1990), a Master's degree in Parasitology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1992), a PhD in Parasitology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1996) and a PhD in Physiology of Insect Vectors "Institut de Recherche sur la Biologie de l 'Insecte", France (2013). He is currently Full Professor of the Parasitology Department of the ICB / UFMG and coordinator of the Postgraduate Support Center (NAPG) of the ICB / UFMG. He has experience in the area of ​​Parasitology, with emphasis on Entomology and Malacology of Parasites and Vectors, working mainly on the following topics: Triatomine biology, Triatomine-host-vertebrate interaction, Food process and bioactive molecules present in the saliva and intestine of hematophagous arthropods.
