Biography
She holds a degree in Chemical Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1965), a Master's degree in Parasitology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1973) and a PhD in Parasitology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1983). at London University UK. He is currently Professor Emeritus of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Professor of the Association of Researchers of INPA 2009-2011, and Member of the Advisory Committee on Microbiology. and Parasitology of the National Research Council 2010-2013. He has experience in the field of Parasitology, with emphasis on Parasitic Protozoology, acting mainly on the following subjects: Leishmania, PCR, Leishmania (Leishmania) chagasi, canine visceral leishmaniasis and tegumentary leishmaniasis.

Basic research in Leishmania and Leishmaniasis, Leishmania Biology: Characterization and Identification, Leishmania and Leishmaniasis, Leishmania Experimental Models, Leishmania biology: Characterization and identification of parasites, Development of Leishmania in its vectors, Leishmania and Leishmaniasis.
