Biography
He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (1992), a Masters in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (1995) and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2000). Currently, she is an associate professor in the Department of Zoology of the ICB, Federal University of Minas Gerais. In the mentioned department minister the disciplines of graduation: Invertebrate Zoology, Malacology, Embryology and Morphophysiology of aquatic animals. The teacher is a tutor in the postgraduate course in Zoology and has already held and participates as a co-supervisor in other postgraduate programs. In postgraduate studies in Zoology, the teacher is a permanent advisor and teaches the optional discipline of Malacology and participates in the compulsory discipline of the Systematics and Evolution of Metazoan program. The professor is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Malacology and Molecular Systematics (LMSM) of the Department of Zoology and has experience in the area of molecular biology and morphological systematics, working mainly in the study of gastropods of the genus Biomphalaria, Omalonyx and Onchidella. LELf (Laboratory of Studies of Limnoperna fortunei) located at the Hydraulic Research Center of the School of Engineering (CPH) of UFMG. This laboratory is unique for working with the golden mussel in biosecurity conditions and is the result of an important collaboration between the School of Engineering / UFMG and the Department of Zoology / ICB / UFMG. The professor is the coordinator of the research network called REALf (Advanced Study Network of Limnoperna fortunei), which was supported by Fapemig / Vale and includes researchers from Universities: UFOP, UFPA, UFRRJ, UFMG (Department of Parasitology and Aquaculture Laboratory? Escola de Veterniária) and other institutions such as the Institute of Studies of the Sea Almirante Paulo Moreira, René Rachou Research Center and the National University of La Plata in Argentina (La Plata Museum). The teacher participates in extension actions.
