Biography

Dr. André Teófilo Beck holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1996), a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1998), a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia (2003) and a Ph.D. of São Paulo (2013). He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering, School of Engineering of São Carlos, University of São Paulo, where he has graduated sixteen * students and ten * masters (* equivalent didactic load). As a counselor, he completed the supervision of three postdoctoral fellows, formed a Doctor and seven Masters, two of whom were co-counselors. He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences (ABCM), of the Brazilian Association of Computational Methods in Engineering (ABMEC) and member of ABCM's Uncertainty Quantification and Modeling Committee. He is a member of the Brazilian Association for Risk Analysis, Process Safety and Reliability (ABRISCO). He is a consultant to FAPESP, CAPES and CNPq. He is an area editor of the Structural Engineering Cadres and associate editor for the International Journal of Modeling and Simulation for the Petroleum Industry Management (uncertainty and risk assessment, optimization, logistic, benchmarking and performance indicators) . Has experience in the areas of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Structural Mechanics and Structural Safety. It works mainly on the following topics: structure security, structural reliability, stochastic processes,
