Biography
Full Professor of the Department of Cell Biology and Development, Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB), University of São Paulo (USP), graduated in Medicine from the School of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto-University of São Paulo (1980) ) and Doctorate (1994) in Medicine (Clinical Endocrinology) at the Paulista School of Medicine - Unifesp and Livre-docência (2005) at ICB-USP. He was a member of the Latin American Thyroid Society (LATS), the American Thyroid Association (ATA), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the Brazilian Cellular Biology Society (SBBC) and the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabology (SBEM) the chair of the Department of Thyroid (2009-2010). She was editor-in-chief of the journal Arquivos Brasileiros de Endocrinologia e Metabologia (2007 -2010) and is part of the editorial board of Thyroid magazine, Journal of the Endocrine Society, Archives of Endocrin & Metab, Brazilian J Med & Biol Research. It develops research in the area of ​​Thyroid and Goiter Cancer, with emphasis on the signaling pathways MAPK (BRAF), TGFbeta and microRNA using in vitro and in vivo models that include techniques of molecular biology, histology, cell biology, genomics and animal model. He received the LATS Award, awarded by the Latin American Thyroid Society in 2009 and the EBT-2016 Award, awarded in the XVII EBT by the Department of Thyroid - SBEM. with emphasis on the signaling pathways MAPK (BRAF), TGFbeta and microRNA using in vitro and in vivo models that include techniques of molecular biology, histology, cell biology, genomics and animal model.
