Biography
Janaina Mascarenhas Hornos da Costa area of ​​research is innovation management, in particular, focused on product development and product-service systems. My research group has as its main line the inclusion of users in the development project, which motivates research related to identifying the users involved throughout the product life cycle, understanding their needs, managing their participation to generate ideas, evaluate and test concepts. We work with the evaluation / proposition of methods, tools and practices, with the diagnosis of development process, evaluation of usability of products and with analysis of new business models. We currently have two major research projects focused on the development of medical and dental products. The first project seeks to identify how small and medium-sized enterprises can benefit from anticipating user involvement during project development. The second project, related to the theme Circular Economy, aims to map, meet and manage the needs of users of the final stages of the product life cycle, such as disposal and reverse logistics, as well as identify their participation in new business models.
