Biography
Silava completed his Civil Engineering - UFAL (2004), MSc in Geotechnics - EESC / USP (2006), Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) - EESC / USP (2011) with sandwich period at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Post-Doctor in Civil Engineering - EESC / USP (2013). Post-Doctor in Geotechnics (Geosynthetics) - FEUP / Portugal (2017). Effective Professor at the School of Engineering of São Carlos (EESC), University of São Paulo (USP), belonging to the Department of Geotechnics (SGS). He teaches courses in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering on subjects related to Soil Mechanics and Geosynthetics. At EESC-USP, he is a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Geotechnics and in the Post-Graduate Program in Transport Engineering. Responsible for the EESC / USP Geosynthetics Laboratory. Coordinator of the Commission of Special Study of Geosynthetics of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). Vice-coordinator of the Coordination Commission of the Civil Engineering Course of EESC / USP.
