Sergio Leite De Andrade

Biography

Leite has been in Usiminas for 40 years and has been the company's commercial director in the management of the last four presidents of the flat steel producer. Graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he will replace Rômel Erwin de Souza, who was defended by Nippon. Souza assumed command of Usiminas after the split between the two controlling partners in September 2014, around the management of the steelmaker. With the departure of Souza from the presidency, the Techint group has once again influenced the day-to-day operations of the steelmaker, reinforcing its position after the April election of the company's chairman, Elias Brito.
