Biography

Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (1984), master's degree (1988) and doctorate (1993) in Space Geophysics by the National Institute of Space Research (INPE). He took his Ph.D. at University College London, London (03/1991 to 02/1993), working in the Atmospheric Physics Laboratory group. He is currently an associate professor / researcher, he founded the research group on Physics and Astronomy and coordinates the network of UNIVAP ionospheric observatories (São José dos Campos-SP, Jataí-GO, Palmas-TO, Araguatins-TO and Manaus-AM). He has experience in the area of ​​Space Physics, Physics of the Sun - Earth relation, Physics of the Superior Atmosphere and Physics of the ionosphere. Researcher responsible for the thematic project of FAPESP (N 2012 / 08445-9) entitled: Study of the day-to-day variability of the mesosphere, thermosphere and ionosphere in low latitudes and equatorial region during the solar cycle 24. Already guided 4 PhD students and 10 Master's students. One of the organizers of the COMMITTEE ON SPACE RESEARCH (COSPAR - 2006, 2008, 2010, 201 and 2014) session was a member of the special edition editorial team of Advances in Space Research for 2006, 2008 and 2014. Elected co- chair of Division II-Aeronomic Phenomena and chair of the Working Group II-E Ionospheric irregularities, fields, and waves of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy for the quadrennium 2011-2015. Elected chair of the IAGA Division II-Aeronomic Phenomena, for the 2015-2019 quadrennium. Member of the Environmental Assessment Group (GAAm) of the Brazilian Antarctic Program, as rapporteur for Atmospheric Sciences (Ordinance 72 30/03/2010 and Ordinance of 08/19/2010). Selected as one of the Top 10 reviewers of the 2012 Advances in Space Research magazine and received Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing 2013 from the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics. Revision of Journal Geophysics Research, Geophysical Research Letters, Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics, Annales Geophysicae, Advances in Space Research, Acta Geophysicae, Earth Planets and Space and Brazilian Journal of Geophysics. According to Web of Science, it has 105 articles published in international journals with 1337 citations (H = 21). He is a productivity fellow at CNPq (level 1C). Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics, Annales Geophysicae, Advances in Space Research, Acta Geophysicae, Earth Planets and Space and Brazilian Journal of Geophysics.
