Biography
Jennifer Maki was named Executive Director of Vale Base Metals in November 2014. She is also Chief Executive Officer of Vale in Canada. Previous positions held by Ms. Maki include Chief Financial Officer/Executive Vice-President and Vice-President/Treasurer.She has participated actively in managing our Base Metals businesses outside Canada as a member of the Board of Commissioners of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PTVI) since 2007 and currently serves as its President Commissioner. Ms. Maki has distinguished herself as an astute leader at Vale by taking firm action in cost management and control, implementing funding strategies, negotiating joint venture agreements in Base Metals, resolving pension fund issues for our Base Metals companies, and demonstrating exceptional commitment and motivational skills. Before joining Vale in 2003, Ms. Maki worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for a decade. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University in Ontario, Canada and became a Chartered Accountant in 1996. Since 2012, Ms. Maki has served on the Board of Ronald McDonaldHouse® Toronto, which provides a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families.
