Biography
Mark has been the chief executive since the incorporation of Randgold in 1995, which was founded on his pioneering exploration work in West Africa. He has subsequently led the company’s growth through the discovery and development of world class assets into a major international gold mining business. Mark has played a pivotal part in promoting the emergence of a sustainable mining industry in Africa. He has a proven track record of growing businesses in Africa and delivering considerable shareholder value. A geologist with a PhD from Natal University, South Africa, Mark has held board positions at a number of global mining companies.
