Dr. Karagyozov graduated medicine from Medical university Sofia in 2004. During the period between February 2005 and August 2011 he specialized and worked in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinic of Military Medical Academy - Sofia, under the guidance of Prof. Krum Katzarov and Assoc. Prof. Dimitar Takov. In December 2012 Dr. Karagyozov acquired his specialty in Gastroenterology. In 2013 he completed spicialization in Gastroenterology in Shonan Kamakura General Hospital, Kanagawa, Japan, as part of a scientific exchange program among the hospitals in Tokushukai Medical Corporation. In 2014 he earned a scholarship from the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) and conducted a specialization in the Department of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy in Elisabethinen Hospital in Linz, Austria on the theme "Echo Endoscopy and endoscopic methods for treatment of chronic pancreatitis". Dr. Karagyozov competed also training programs in Gastroenterology and Therapeutic Endoscopy in Germany, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, and Italy. Dr. Karagyozov is a member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Bulgarian Scientific Society for Gastroenterology. Since 1st September 2011 he is part of Tokuda Hospital's team and since 1st February 2015 he is head of Interventional Gastroenterology Unit in Second Internal Medicine Clinic. He executed routinely upper and lower endoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and all related to them therapeutic procedures, as well as percutaneous interventions under ultrasound and X-ray control. His interests are in the sphere of interventional treatment of pancreas diseases and biliary system. He is Doctor of the year in Tokuda Hospital Sofia for 2015.
