Emil Georgiev

Biography

He graduated physics in University of Sofia 'St. Cyril and Methodius' in 2010. In 2012 he acquired master's degree in Meidical Physics with excellent result. For the time of his specialization Emil Georgiev has been attending different classes, additional trainings and practical work in the area of radiology and radio nuclear diagnostics, magnetic-resonance medical imaging, clinical dosimetry, metrology of the ionizing radiation, radioactive activities in the environment, radioecology, dosimetry and radio protection. After his graduation he started working in Tokuda Hospital as a Medical Physicist in the Clinic for Medical Imaging.  In the beginning of 2014 started his residentship at the Faculty of Physics, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski " with scientific specialty Biophysics. The same year he won second prize at the seventh national competition for young scientists "Young and Energetic Scientists - YES". Emil Georgiev actively participates in the process of quality assessment, development and introduction of new protocols and techniques of research, evaluation of radiation exposure and radiation protection of staff and patients. His professional interests is directed to the sphere of magnetic-resonance tomography, computer tomography, dosimetry and radio protection. Emil Georgiev is a member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), Bulgarian Society for Biomedical Physics and Engineering. He has knowledge of spoken and written English language.
